Well, I'm back to what I know and like best, Italian exploitation. This one is a little known rape/revenge flick, starring Florinda Bolken and Ray Lovelock.
I'm going to be honest. I've never been a big fan of Last House on the Left. I've seen it several times, but never really cared for it for some reason. I did see and enjoy Night Train Murders. I liked it better than Last House on the Left. I've never seen this film here though. I'm going to add it to my queue.
I enjoyed the stumbling beginning, the errors, the spoiler alert, and the 'wanna fight' blip in this review, as well as the musical montage - you are getting really good at these!!
I have never seen this one, nor have I ever seen Night Train Murders - I will have to check them both out, thanks your recommendations!
Florinda Bolkan in a habit? Then I'd expect her to go all "Flavia the Heretic" on those bastards.
Anyway, I've been mulling over Night Train Murders for a while now, and you may have put me over the top on getting it.
That the music was good on Last House on the Beach is no surprise. My general rule is that just about all Japanese movies from the 60s and 70s look good, and just about all Italian films from that period sound good.

Ha! I like that! Ain't it the truth though?
Do check out NIGHT TRAIN MURDERS, I highly recommend it.
Sorry I been a bit behind on keeping up with posts and etc what with the holidays and blah blah (insert another excuse here), but I finally got a chance to watch this today.
I really enjoy these video reviews and I hope you keep them coming, This flick looks like something I would want to check it out, but I have to be honest I have yet to see Last House on the Left. I have it in a pile to watch but seeing as this is Italian then I might get around to watching this first.
Thanks again for the review. And I can't wait to see what you do next.
I did have a copy of this a while back and for some reason never got round to watching it. Thanks for reminding me- you ve moved this to near the top of the to see list once I finish my current Italian post apocalyptic phase (I have two more of those to watch).
Anyhow to this film- you suggested this one was not as good as Night Train Murders, does it come close?
Hmmm, my first thought would be to say, no, it's not as good as NIGHT TRAIN MURDERS. It's just not the same quality of film--not to say LAST HOUSE ON THE BEACH doesn't have its moments. Lovelock and Bolken are great.

ReplyDeleteIt never really did it for me either--besides Hess's performance. I've always liked the Italian knock offs more--go figure!

Thanx, Jason--it means a lot that I know you actually check out these reviews. I was rather proud of this one, myself.
