First off, I'm sorry if I haven't been getting to everybody's blogs and making comments as of the last 3 or 4 weeks, but I've had all sorts of computer issues among other things that have kept me very busy. It's a miracle that I was even able to make this review at all.
Error note: I refer to the film THE SMELL OF ONION as THE SMELL OF ONIONS--there's no 'S'. My bad.
wow, currently playing this- and this is my first live commentary on your commentary, but no I didnt recognise the guy as skorpion from New Barbarians- great spotting.
Hey Rev. Glad to see your reviews back. I look forward to whatever you post here. Good luck with what you do with this blog. Sorry to see the Violent Italy blog go away, but I look forward to the postings you do here. I have missed you around the blogosphere. Thanks for the comments you have posted on my blogs. Good luck with things. I've had a rough year so far. My car has had lots of problems. I hope you get your computer straightened out and whatever else you need to do. I also look forward to seeing your around my blogs when you get the chance. I've actually never this film, but I've got it in my Netflix queue. This weekend I'm watching Emanuelle Around The World and A Man Called Magnum. Have a great weekend.
Nice one. Nero fights back! I'm woefully ignorant of these Italian crime/thriller/actioners although this one seems interesting and I've enjoyed a lot of Enzo G. Castellari other films. Been grooving to Goodbye My Friend on the Beretta 70 compilation of Italian soundtrack tunes for years and now I finally know from where it originated.
I should add - great review, but got a bit excited cos you were doing this film- its one of my all time favourites. Love the soundtrack as it leaves aside the Edda Dell'Orso style lalalas (which I also have a soft spot for) and just completely rocks out.
Also a facinating politcal subtext- we learn early that he is a leftist but he sort of becomes a liberal pushed too far one man war.
Keith - glad to be back, buddy--even in a limited form.
Scott - That's a great comp disc--the music from these movies are half the appeal for me.
Jason - Thanx, bro. As much as I've wanted to just quit doing reviews all together, I just can't seem to stop.
Nigel - Yeah, Prete did look a lot older in New Barbarians. Street Law is a great film--one of my all time favs as well. I meant to review it months ago, but I felt it needed a few more screenings. I'm glad I waited. The score is one the best ever IMO.

One of the best of the genre.
