A special shout to J. Astro for introducing me to the Fantomas song, "Cape Fear", which I have now adopted as my new theme song.

Nice editing job to Fantomas, man!

Neat-o review on DEMONS, too. The 'Rick James' bitch's big yellow face-pustule always grosses me out. The only thing I disagree with is DEMONS 2 - I like that one, too.

On the other hand, I hate A BLADE IN THE DARK...

A lot of people like DEMONS 2. I just thought it was too stupid for it's own good and it just wasn't as cool as the first. That being said, I can see how people would like it, the same way people like TROLL 2. I've only seen DEMONS 2 once, maybe I need to see again and go into it with a different mindset. As far as BLADE IN THE DARK...yeah, it's nothing that special either. Actually, I completely forgot that Bava did BLASTFIGHTER--that is probably his second best, before BLADE IN THE DARK. I think Lamberto Bava sucks, so its probably all moot.

Actually, I maybe don't even like DEMONS 2 as a movie all that much in its entirety, but I do like the underground car-park scene a whole lot.

Demons is one of those films I feel like I should like. It has all the hallmarks of something I would dig, but I've watched it at least a couple of times and I still don't care for it. I actually would rather watch Delirium: Photo of Gioia again.

It's the rare time that we differ on a film, Rev. I knew it had to happen eventually.

In all honesty, if I saw DEMONS for the first time right now, I wouldn't be that impressed with it. It's one of those films I loved as a kid, and when I watch it now the nostalgia helps me like it more than I should. It truly is a bad movie, but for the life of me, I can't help but enjoy it everytime I see it.

Hey there. Great review. I haven't seen this for years. I liked it when I first saw it, but I do wonder if I would enjoy it today or not. Happy Sunday. Hope you've been enjoying the weekend. Take care. Have a great week ahead. Cheers!

I liked 2 as well as 3... "The Church" even has Asia Argento.

Neither were as good as the original but it was nice to see a continuation of the theme.

Rev., I saw DEMONS about a decade ago and my callow reaction back then was, "This is stupid!" Without necessarily taking that back, having looked at your review and the clips I have to say that the guy riding his motorcyle inside the theater and swordfighting looks more cool than I remember. BTW, your new opening looks and sounds terrific.

@Keith - Well, I still found myself enjoying it. Just don't expect much.

@Samuel - Then I would definitely not recommend the sequel, because "This is stupid" was the reaction I had when I saw it. As far as the new intro, thank you--I'm quite pleased with it as well.

@Anrkist - Yeah, but Soavi's THE CHURCH isn't a true sequel, it was just given that title in certain markets to cash in on the success of the first DEMONS. Lamberto Bava's DEMONS III: THE OGRE is the true part 3. I love THE CHURCH.
